Logan O’Connor and Zachary L’Heureux May Return for Avalanche

Colorado Avalanche forwards Logan O’Connor and Zachary L’Heureux might return to the ice this week during the team’s road trip according to Avalanche coach Jared Bednar. Both players have been out with lower-body injuries, but their return could be as early as Wednesday in Winnipeg or Thursday in Calgary. The Avalanche have started their season strong, winning their first two games and scoring a total of 14 goals.

Zachary L’Heureux, newly acquired from Nashville, expressed eagerness to get back to playing after recovering from his injury. ‘You always want to be healthy for Game 1 and I’m on the shelf, so it’s not fun,’ L’Heureux shared, noting his quick recovery. The forward has already made an impression in his NHL career, marked with physical play that has included both penalties and points.

Coach Bednar remarked on L’Heureux’s style, likening it to a younger Nazem Kadri and emphasizing the player’s need to balance physicality with control. Meanwhile, O’Connor is hoping to bounce back after a hip surgery limited his play last season, though he returned in time for the playoffs. As the team continues its season, the potential return of these players could bolster an already robust lineup.
